![]() Add to My Google ![]() it's in beta on yahoo, so it might not work every time... If you have another RSS reader, just use this url: CODE http://www.dealtaker.com/ssi.php?a=out&f=8,26&show=40&type=rss or http://www.dealtaker.com/rss.html (the show=# is the number of items to show) edit: fixed url to no longer include /forums edit2: fixed url and added the html version edit3: fixed myyahoo url |

woo-hoo I *love* it!
I had no clue to what you were talking about so I clicked your link and added it. It gives me the 5 latest deals listed here, (as "headlines" on myYahoo homepage) - very cool! |

Go to your "MyYahoo" web page and click on "Add Content" (usually at the top or very bottom)
in the middle column, click on "Popular From the Web" type DealTaker in the "Find Content" box, then when DealTaker comes up, click on it to add it to your page (it will add it to the bottom, so you'll have to use "Change Layout" to move it where you want it). |

FYI: It seems to work well with both SharpReader and RSSReader.

I use Newsgator because of Outlook integration and multiple location sync +web version for my PPC. But the last free one I used and recommended was Sharpreader.
PM me if anyone wants help. =] |

If you are using Firefox, you can just make a new "live bookmark," enter the url in the first post (above) in "feed location," and put it in your "bookmarks toolbar folder." Then you will be able to see it whenever your browser is open.

I use Bloglines as my RSS newsreader. It keeps track of what you've read by showing how many posts have been added since you last read. regardless of what computer you're currently using at the time. For example, DealTaker is listed under my "Deals" folder like this "DealTaker (15)" meaning that I have 15 unread items. Once I click on DealTaker, this goes back down to zero so no number is shown. Try Bloglines out! |

Looks like this is a feature of 1.0PR and 1.0 release. It's called Live Bookmarks. These are the instructions I found on how to do it. Some sites don't tell Firefox that they support Live Bookmarks, even though they actually do. If you know the URL of a site's RSS feed (url ends with .rdf or .xml), you can manually create a Live Bookmark for the site. Go to the Bookmarks menu and select 'Manage Bookmarks'. Under the 'File Menu', select 'New Live Bookmark'. Create a name for the Live Bookmark and add the URL. New articles from that site will appear as Live Bookmarks in Firefox. Works fine for me, and I used this address in the bookmark: http://www.dealtaker.com/forums/ssi.php?a=...how=40&type=rss |

I followed Mr Roboto's and it works! Thanks! I think Mr Rocks is an online(website) RSS Reader.

I think adding the following to the home page and new posts page:
<LINK REL="alternate" TITLE="Dealtaker RSS" HREF="http://www.dealtaker.com/forums/ssi.php?a=out&f=8,26&show=40&type=rss" TYPE="application/rss+xml"> Might also make it show up on browsers with RSS built in. For instance on Firefox it shows a little button down on the status bar that you can use to add the feed. |

Hey guys, i think this might be my first post... but anyway...
its kinda funny that this poped up... cause like 3 days ago i installed Mozilla's Thunderbird 1.0... Here and i saw the RSS thing... i knda knew what it was... but never used it before... then i came to Dealtaker.com and saw the RSS link... i put 2 and 2 togather (and instead of getting 4) i found it was very handy... its really nice... except there is one flaw that i found... (but it might be my configuration) in the titles.. i get: "Set of 2 Glitter Lamps $12.99 shipped" instead of: "Set of 2 Glitter Lamps $12.99 shipped" if there is a way to fix this please let me know.. thanks EDIT: and i was right... this is my first post YAY!!! I'll check and see if there's a fix for that. |
